The Standard Stratocaster Plus Top delivers famous Fender tone and classic style, with the added elegance of a flame maple top on the alder body. Other features include tinted maple neck with modern "C"-shaped profile and satin urethane back finish, rosewood or maple fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and 9.5" radius, vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge and '70s-style headstock logo. Available in Tobacco Sunburst (rosewood fingerboard) and Aged Cherry Burst (maple fingerboard).

The DiMarzio Injector Model pickup is one of our hottest hum-canceling models (185mV output) with six individual Alnico magnets. The sound is not like a vintage single-coil: highs are bright but not glassy, and lows are solid and defined. It was designed to work equally well with rapid single-note arpeggios and power chords without becoming muddy or compressed. It has about 40% less magnet-pull than standard single-coils, and this is essential for the superior speed and dynamic range with which this pickup responds to pick attack. The Injector is a lot louder and warmer than the Area 67 but the combination produces varied tonal colors in the 2 and 4 positions, with the Area 67 alone providing vintage tone and the Injector Neck and Bridge for heavier sounds.

The guitar you are interested in purchasing was originally manufactured 78 miles south of San Diego California in Ensenada Mexico. However, the guitar undergoes a complete transformation at the 920D Custom Shop in Fort Smith Arkansas.

Neck specs are: 21 medium jumbo frets, 42mm nut, Modern C shaped profile, and 9.5 inch fretboard radius.

I begin with a brand new Fender instrument that I take out of the original factory sealed box. All electronics used in a 920D Custom Shop modified guitar are premium electronics and are of American origin whether they are from Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, Lace, or Fender Custom Shop. The 920D Custom Shop uses top quality CRL switches and CTS potentiometers. The tuning machines on all 920D Custom Shop guitars and the bridge on most of our 920D Custom Shop guitars are also upgraded to premium Schaller, Fender, Planet Waves, or Babicz hardware.

I, the lead technician at the 920D Custom Shop, oversee each build and address any issues that might arise. The neck relief is adjusted, action is set to 1.25mm at the 12th fret, and the intonation is adjusted to A440 with a Petersen strobe tuner. Any fret sprout and high or low frets will be corrected before shipment. The completed guitars are then evaluated and all electronics are tested for proper functionality.

The 920D Custom Shop offers all of the same modifications on American or Japanese made Fender guitars. Prices are typically $500 more for the same modifications on an American made instrument.

Our mission at the 920D Custom Shop is to build excellent guitars that outperform any other option at a half or a third of the cost.

ALL CUSTOM PICKGUARDS, WIRING HARNESSES, GUITARS, AND CONTROL PLATES ARE MADE TO ORDER AND WILL TAKE A COUPLE OF DAYS TO COMPLETE.
